MP Project

Drawings from 2016 - Present | Dimensions: 22 × 8 meters

MP has many meanings – monumental practice, micro or mega space, and dream versus memory. In each language, those two letters may stand for different words and thus form new concepts. Being attached to the same visual representation, they evoke diverse perceptions. What we see is an attempt to feel the space of the inner and outer world and comprehend oneself in it. The Colossus, a drawn giant, depicts a monumental idea of the man. It does not portray an idol or a hero but a pure form and multifaceted essence. The scientific knowledge about man does not create one’s complete image.

Human tends to be a complex of values and irrational meanings in the bodily shell. One is often stereotyped by language, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or cultural identity. The holistic view is dissolved in anxiety, information glut, and diversity conflicts. The subject of study is the transformation of the dream into memory. Dream no longer exists from the moment of embodiment but becomes a memory. Thus, they never meet. The purpose of this project is to observe a moment of simultaneous coexistence of the dream about the future and memories of this dream from the past.

The project and its drawing parts are created in various cities and countries.
Often artistic residencies, symposiums. Then it is possible for a longer period of time to focus on the project and refine subsequent parts of the human map.

From 2017, the project was supported by various cultural institutions, scholarships, and private patrons.
